Mississippi’s first Sentio surgeries give teens 360 degrees of hearing

Landon Forbes and Lily Reed, who both had hearing in one ear, now can hear in both ears after surgery and activation of Sentio, an active transcutaneous bone conduction hearing system approved by the FDA earlier this year.

History unboxed: Project collects, curates long-cloistered images

It just so happens that some of the Medical Center’s most historic moments were recorded on film, including groundbreaking surgical procedures. For many years, these images and others were stored away and forgotten, but have now come to light and are part of “Mississippi Medical History Online: The UMMC Digital Collections Initiative.” They, along with other artifacts, are being made available for viewing – for scholars, researchers and the general public alike.

Center for Maternal and Fetal Care hosts holiday reunion for former patients, children
