JACKSON, Miss. – Hospitals & Health Networks, the flagship publication of the American Hospital Association, has named the University of Mississippi Medical Center among its 2013 “Most Wired” list for health-care facilities.

The listing is the result of an industry-standard benchmark study, the Most Wired Survey, which measured the level of information technology adoption in U.S. hospitals and health systems. The study is considered a useful tool for hospital and health system leaders to map their IT strategic plans.

The survey recognizes hospitals and health systems for excellence in IT based on the organizations’ achievements within the analytic structure.

UMMC was one of four health-care institutions in Mississippi to be recognized as “most wired” in the study. The others included St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital, North Mississippi Health Services in Tupelo, and Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, which was listed in “The Most Wired – Small and Rural” category.
