Ruckdeschel named to Lung Roundtable

Dr. John Ruckdeschel, University of Mississippi Medical Center Cancer Institute director, has been named to the National Lung Cancer Roundtable.
Dr. Pierre De Delva, associate professor of cardiothoracic surgery who leads the CI Interdisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Program, is second representatives.
The Roundtable, established by the American Cancer Society in 2017, includes public, private and voluntary organizations as well as experts dedicated to reducing the incidence of and deaths from lung cancer through appropriate screening, treatment and prevention services.
Ruckdeschel, a medical oncologist, has spent his career treating and researching lung cancer. De Delva, a thoracic surgeon, leads the UMMC team that collectively meets to review each new patient’s case before recommending treatment.
