Mississippians now have access to a center dedicated to offering cutting-edge treatment for skin cancer-related conditions. The University Physicians Skin Cancer Center at Face and Skin, housed directly below the Face and Skin Center in Ridgeland, offers more accessibility to specialists and a more efficient workspace for skin cancer and general dermatology services. The Medical Center’s affiliation with Anderson Regional Medical Center is flying high. UMMC’s AirCare medical air transport, the most advanced in the state, is enhancing its regional partnership with Anderson so more patients in need of trauma care can receive it locally from Anderson’s critical care team. UMMC is providing clinical support, protocols and policies to afford patients the highest level of care possible. Read More
The Bob Bird Discharge Lobby, part of the seven-story expansion of the state’s only children’s hospital, will be a space where families of Children's of Mississippi patients can comfortably prepare to take their children home. Bird, a Joseph C. Bancroft Charitable and Educational Fund leader, is being honored for his service to the Bancroft Fund and to Croft, LLC, a manufacturer of vinyl and aluminum windows and doors.

After several months of seeing only emergency cases, the 28 dental providers that make up University Dentists have resumed seeing all patients for a range of procedures.
Serology testing can detect the antibodies the immune system makes in response to the virus that causes COVID-19. However, these tests do not show if the antibodies can protect you from getting sick. UMMC physicians and scientists are studying these antibodies to learn how effective they are against COVID-19.
A day in the Medical Center’s intensive care units and floors dedicated to COVID-19 patients brings many things. In the ICU, adults fight to live. On the floor, there’s more hope of recovery. The common ties are front line and support staff who stride toward the threat and the cautious promise of new treatments that could make a difference between life and death.
