Information Blocking

In March 2020, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) published the "21st Century Cures Act: Interoperability, Information Blocking, and the ONC Health IT Certification Program" final rule. This rule implements provisions of the 21st Century Cures Act 2 requiring providers, health information exchanges and networks, and health IT developers to not engage in "information blocking" by knowingly interfering with the access, exchange, or use of electronic health information.
To accommodate this regulation, we will be releasing the following to MyChart for both Ambulatory and Inpatient effective January 1, 2021:
- Allergies
- Assessment and plan of treatment
- Care team
- Clinical notes, including pathology narratives
- Goals
- Health concerns
- Immunizations
- All labs, including "sensitive labs"
- Medications
- Demographics
- Problems
- Procedures
- Provenance
- Smoking status
- Unique device identifiers for implants
- Vitals
