Nursing Vitals Constant Observation Order Consolidated
To reduce confusion and improve patient care, on Wednesday, March 11th, Constant Observation Orders will be combined to a single order for most units. Within the order, the provider is asked to indicate a reason for constant observation. If Suicide Risk is selected as the indication, an additional question regarding visitors will cascade. Visitation for patients who are at risk for suicide will be restricted unless otherwise ordered by their provider. The visitation status can be seen by nursing when acknowledging orders or when reviewing current orders under the Nursing Activities and Treatments section.
