New Automated Workflow for Diet Orders with Meal Safety Trays

With the recent transition to MyDining as our sole dietary system for the Jackson Campus, we are now able to automate the workflow for Safety Trays. CCurrently, a comment must be made in the diet order and the kitchen staff must complete another manual step in the dietary system to get that information on the tray ticket.

Beginning September 5, 2023, there will be an additional diet order question regarding the need for safe tray setup. This is a hard stop in the diet order. If the question is answered as "Yes", the diet order will automatically generate the necessary information on the tray ticket in the dietary system. This will alleviate the need for any manual intervention from the kitchen staff.

The safe tray set up will include a disposable tray, plastic cutlery, and plastic/Styrofoam cup. No metal drink cans will be allowed.

Nursing may call the provider to request an order for a safe tray in needed.

  • This change only impacts the Jackson campus. It will not impact diet orders without an actual food tray such as NPO or Tube Feedings.
