With the January 2021 changes to the LOS section due to the E&M update, the new section resulted in some confusion with respect to where/how to document the required elements for billing when conducting a telehealth (TH) visit and when billing non-TH visit based on time.

To ensure that the required elements for TH billing are captured, the elements will once again be required documentation in the Telehealth activity tab. For TH visits, the encounter provider is required to document consent, time and method whether billing by time or documentation. 

In the LOS section under Wrap-Up, the telehealth method has been removed. This section should only be completed for non-telehealth visits when the encounter provider is billing based on time.
