Changes to the Staples Order Process

Beginning March 1, 2023, UMMC will implement changes to the Staples punch-out catalog in Workday. UMMC's Supply Chain team and Staples have developed a new formulary that includes approximately 1,400 items. With few exceptions, supplies should be purchased only from the approved UMMC Formulary. Any off-formulary purchase requests will follow a new approval process in Workday that will include review by Category Management and senior leadership. Exceptions will require a written explanation of why a like-function item on the formulary will not meet current needs. 

Updated step-by-step instructions for creating a requisition in Workday to order supplies from Staples will be available on the Workday Learning Resources page beginning March 1, 2023.
