To improve ordering and collection of urinalysis and urine cultures for catheterized patients, the Urinalysis and Urine Culture order panel has been revised. The revision will be placed in Epic on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. If the Foley placement is 5 days or greater old, the panel links the culture order, a new Foley order, and a nursing order/task to insert a new Foley prior to urine collection.
