New Best Practice Advisory For Admission Order Patient ClassBeginning on Wednesday, October 5, A Best Practice Advisory will populate when either upgrading or downgrading a patient class for an admitted patient on the Jackson campus. This will ensure a change in patient class is clinically indicated or recommended from a utilization review nurse/physician advisor. The Best Practice Advisory will populate when changing patient class from observation to inpatient and from inpatient to observation. The ordering provider will be asked to either keep or remove the new admission order. If removed is selected, no further actions are needed. If the order will be kept, a hard stop will appear to acknowledge the reason a new order is needed for upgrade/downgrade and additional comments can also be added. When the Best Practice Advisory is accepted, the admission order composer will populate allowing the order to be completed and signed. Please note are of impact: Jackson campus adult and pediatrics. |
