Order Peds RBC Blood in Aliquots

The order panel for Ordering RBC’s in mL’s has recently been revised.  Updates have been made to the questions that appear within the order panel to accurately communicate the intended aliquot dose (s), transfusion duration, and the minimum time to wait between multiple aliquots.  Nursing can view this information when accessing the Transfusion Release Report as well as in the order section on the summary page or viewing the order details when acknowledging the orders.  If multiple aliquots are ordered, each aliquot has its own order within the order panel.  Only one aliquot should be released at a time.   Please refer to this link for step by step directions.
