Inpatient Changes in the May 4 Epic Quarterly Upgrade
Featured Inpatient changes coming with Upgrade:
Nursing can now select a region that specifically maps to the sacrum rather than mapping to the lower back. For more information see this tip sheet: Add LDA's to a New Region on the LDA Avatar.
Clinicians and pharmacists can now select a default column to sort on in their patient lists and a default sorting order. For more information see this tip sheet: Choose a Column to Sort on in Patient Lists.
Nurses can now document new lines directly from the link line window by clicking New Line, then using the Add a Line to Link window. This prevents nursing from leaving their current documentation window to move elsewhere in the chart to document the new line. For more information see this tip sheet: Document a New Line During a Medication Administration.
In Patient Lists, the overdue medications and overdue infusions have been updated. For more information see this tip sheet: Update Overdue Medication Icons in Patient Lists.
Epic users can now switch between the I/O graph and table view of the I/O activity. This enables viewer to see both trends and discrete values. For more information see this tip sheet: Switching Views for I/O.
