Published on Monday, November 5, 2018

A new "Eligibility" BPA for patients who qualify for Lung Cancer Screening will be implemented on Tuesday, November 6. It will display in Primary Care, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatric and Gerontology encounters in the BPA section ONLY if:

  • the patient is 55-80 years old
  • CT Lung Screening order has not been signed in the past year
  • Smoking status has been documented in Social History as either:
    • a current smoker OR
    • quit within the past 15 years

The default action is to refer to the patient to the Pulmonary Clinic for further evaluation. Providers also have the option to order the CT Lung Screening exam.
