C-Diff Order Validation

IDSA guidelines for Clostridium difficile have clear recommendations for how PCR testing should be used to best determine true infections, and these guidelines have been adopted for testing at UMMC.

Beginning Monday, November 5, if a patient has been administered a laxative within the last 48 hours, users will not be allowed to sign the C-Diff order.

For patients less than two years old, this order is not permitted at any time.
