Appointment of Chief Information Officer
Thursday, April 27, 2023
TO: UMMC Faculty, Staff and Students
FROM: Dr. LouAnn Woodward, Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs
SUBJECT: Appointment of Chief Information Officer
I’m pleased to announce that Kevin Yearick has accepted the role of UMMC’s Chief Information Officer, effective May 1.
Kevin currently serves as the Medical Center’s Chief Information Officer-Technology and is responsible for 130-plus employees on the server, network, telecommunications and technology services in the Division of Information Systems. He has 25 years of experience in service delivery, strategy, innovation, operations, technology infrastructure, project management and system selection.
In his new position, he will be the executive leader of information technology, providing leadership, integrative management and direction to all of UMMC's shared information systems and related operations, including the health care, research and academic missions.
Before arriving at the Medical Center in June 2014, Kevin served as executive director of network services for Grady Health System, a 900-bed academic medical center in Atlanta. From 2003-08, he was director of corporate infrastructure services at Hospital Partners of America in Charlotte, N.C., a hospital holding company, where his responsibilities included technology strategies and integration of all hospital acquisitions. He also served there as manager of corporate information technology.
Kevin received a BA in business administration from Queens University of Charlotte and has served as a board member on the university’s Alumni Association.
Please join me in congratulating Kevin on his new role.
Thank you.
