TO:All Students, Faculty, and Staff
FROM:Mary Eileen Paradis, Chief of Police and Executive Director of Public Safety
SUBJECT: 2021 UMMC Annual Security Report
The UMMC Annual Security Report, ASR for short, complies with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act. Statistics in the report include instances of crimes, arrests, and referrals reported to the UMMC Police Department, campus security authorities and local law enforcement agencies surrounding UMMC’s campuses and building/facilities where UMMC has a presence.
The Clery Act is a federal law that requires U.S. colleges and universities to disclose information about crime on and around their facilities. The ASR must also include policy statements regarding, but not limited to, crime reporting, campus facility security and access, law enforcement authority, the incidence of alcohol and drug use and the prevention of/response to sexual assault, domestic or dating violence and stalking.
UMMC’s ASR can be viewed via a link on the UMMC PD webpage here. To request a printed copy of the UMMC ASR, please e-mail mparadis@umc.edu or call 5-3072.
The 2021 UMMC ASR includes crime statistics for calendar years 2018, 2019, and 2020. UMMC crime information also appears on the U.S. Department of Education website.
