ESPN College Gameday Show to Impact Stadium Parking
October 25, 2022
TO:All UMMC Personnel
FROM:Dr. Jonathan Wilson, Chief Administrative Officer
SUBJECT: ESPN College Gameday Show to Impact Stadium Parking
Because of the stellar football season Jackson State University and head coach Deion Sanders is having, their home game this Saturday against Southern University has been chosen by ESPN as the site of the College Gameday morning show. This is a massive accomplishment for JSU and we’re happy to support this positive national exposure for them and the city of Jackson.
Due to the size of the production area for College Gameday and the need to start setting up as early as possible, parking access around the stadium will be impacted earlier than normal for a JSU home game.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 26, a portion of the southeast section of Lot B will not be available for parking by UMMC personnel. The diagram below shows the parking spots that will be unavailable from Wednesday evening through Saturday. Shuttle bus routes will also be temporarily modified. If you work an evening shift on Wednesday that will require your vehicle to be parked later than 7 p.m., you should not park in the shaded area and use another stadium lot. Vehicles in the shaded area after 7 p.m. tomorrow will be towed at owner’s expense. The spots in the shaded area will be unavailable on Thursday and Friday.
On Saturday, Oct. 29, all stadium parking lots are unavailable for UMMC parking. All vehicles must be removed from all stadium lots by 5 a.m. Saturday morning. Any vehicles remaining after that time will be towed at owner’s expense.
If you work a Friday night shift or any shift on Saturday and would like to park in an on-campus lot or garage, email FacilitiesServices-Parking@umc.edu to make that request.
For any other questions or for more information, please email FacilitiesServices-Parking@umc.edu. Any updates or changes to this plan will be added to the UMMC Intranet.
Thank you.
Due to Gameday setup, modifications have been made to the Gold and Blue line shuttle routes, effective beginning Wednesday, Oct. 25. View the online Shuttle Tracker to track UMMC routes, including the Gold Line and the Blue Line.
