SWAC Football Championship Affects Stadium Parking

SUBJECT: SWAC Football Championship Affects Stadium Parking
I want to make you aware of a planned event scheduled for Veteran’s Memorial Stadium that will impact availability of parking in the stadium lots for UMMC personnel.
On Saturday, December 4, the SWAC Championship will take place at the stadium. As a result of tailgating activities beginning Friday, vehicles parked in the Overflow stadium parking lot may not remain after 5:30 pm on Friday December 3rd. UMMC personnel can park in Stadium Parking Lots A, B, C, D & E as shown on the corresponding map if scheduled to be on campus after 5:30 pm.
In addition, UMMC employees cannot park at the stadium on Saturday. As an alternative to parking in a stadium lot, UMMC employees reporting to work may park in an on-campus surface lot or request weekend parking access in Garage D, located next to the School of Dentistry, by emailing parking@umc.edu.
High School Football State Championship games that were originally scheduled for December 3rd & 4th will no longer take place at the stadium due to the SWAC Championship.
