Normal Medical Center Operations, Class Schedules Resume Tomorrow
January 16, 2024
TO: UMMC Faculty, Staff and Students
FROM:Dr. Jonathan Wilson, Chief Administrative Officer
SUBJECT: Normal Medical Center Operations, Class Schedules Resume Tomorrow
All Medical Center operations at facilities located in central and south Mississippi, including in-person classes and ambulatory and imaging clinics, will resume a normal schedule tomorrow.
Much of the frozen precipitation that fell Monday in central Mississippi has melted, and it is anticipated that driving conditions will improve tomorrow other than some ice remaining on bridges and overpasses. Additionally, ice patches remain on sidewalks and in parking lots, so please use caution when walking.
Adult and pediatric clinics in north Mississippi, including in Grenada and Greenwood, will remain closed tomorrow. Patients who have a scheduled appointment will be contacted by their clinic to reschedule. Employees in these clinics will be contacted by a supervisor.
To ensure you are taking the safest route, please refer to guidance from the Mississippi Department of Transportation at MDOT.ms.gov or on the MDOT smartphone app.
Thank you.
