Mask Use Optional in All Areas
Friday, Jan. 27, 2023
TO: All UMMC Personnel
FROM: Dr. Alan Jones, Associate Vice Chancellor for Clinical Affairs
SUBJECT: Mask Use Optional in All Areas
Effective immediately, mask use is not required in all UMMC areas, including those designated for direct patient care, unless there are specific infection control, isolation or other protocols that mandate mask use.
Mask use is a personal preference and each of us should be respectful of the choices made by the people around us.
If a patient requests his/her care providers to be masked, we will comply with that request.
The Medical Center’s COVID-19 vaccination policy has not changed. Any person who was granted an accommodation must continue to comply with the terms of that accommodation.
Thank you.
