Spotlight on the John D. Bower School of Population Health Student Ambassador Program: inspiring the next generation of population health leaders
The Bower School of Population Health is proud to introduce the School of Population Health Student Ambassador Program, an initiative that places students and faculty at the forefront of our recruitment and outreach efforts. Led by Special Projects Coordinator Patrick Taylor, the Ambassadors represent the school at health career and graduate school fairs across the Southeast. Through their participation, they share firsthand experiences and insights about the field of population health, inspiring prospective students to join us.
Our current SOPH ambassadors – Minhazul Abedin, McKing Amedari, Sachin Karki, Tasnova Malek, and Torrey Robinson – bring invaluable student perspectives to these events. As advocates for the Bower School, they also connect with high school students at UMMC’s Discovery Days and Exploring Health Care Pathways events, helping them understand the vital role of population health in creating healthier communities.
The School of Population Health Student Ambassador Program underscores our belief that students’ voices are essential in recruiting the next generation of health professionals. There is no perspective more powerful than that of our students, and we are grateful to these Ambassadors for representing the heart and mission of SOPH with such dedication.
