eMS students present innovative capstone projects driving population health impact

Students in the Executive Master’s of Science in Population Health Management (eMS) program presented their capstone projects, marking the culmination of their graduate studies and their commitment to applying data-driven solutions to real-world health challenges.
The Capstone experience – the final course in the eMS curriculum – requires students to develop and implement projects that address one or more dimensions of the Quadruple Aim: improving the patient experience, enhancing health outcomes, supporting provider well-being, and reducing health care costs.
This year’s presentations showcased the diversity, innovation, and practical impact of population health leadership across settings ranging from local Mississippi communities to international health systems:
Dr. Angela Filzen – U.S. State Dental Board Regulations & Blood Pressure Documentation
Dr. Saad Alshahrani – Care Management for Complex Patients in Eastern Health Cluster
Ms. Annie Denley Ross – Streamlining Leukemia & Lymphoma Testing to Improve Efficiency & Cut Costs
Ms. Aryanna Yarbrough – Community Mapping of Medication Access in Scott County, MS
Dr. Mark Reddington – Enhancing Diabetes Care Coordination in Rural Clinics
Each project exemplified the applied nature of population health science by leveraging research, policy, and practice to improve systems of care and outcomes for patients and communities.
Congratulations to these eMS graduates for their outstanding work and for demonstrating how population health principles can transform care delivery in meaningful and measurable ways.
