Norman C. Nelson Student Union
The Norman C. Nelson Student Union fosters a welcoming environment to enhance students' and trainees' quality of life by offering facilities, programs, and activities of interest and value; provides superior physical support for institutional activities; and works to build a sense of community among all campus constituencies. The Nelson Student Union is a 57,000-square-foot facility, which opened its doors in the fall of 1999.
The Nelson Student Union houses the UMMC Bookstore, the Office of Student Affairs, dining services, and convention and student facilities.
Hours of operation
Administrative offices are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., ready to assist with conference services.
Dining Services includes a Food Court operated by Aramark, which is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Student Facilities include study rooms, recreational areas, a gymnasium, a running track, an aerobics room, exercise facilities, a locker room, and equipment checkout. Hours may vary by student facility:
The Associated Student Body (ASB) Suite is located on the second floor and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Note. The ASB Suite is a reservable space. Please check the reservation calendar for availability.
The Fitness Center and Gymnasium, spanning the first and second floors, offer 24/7 access Monday through Sunday, for students and trainees only.
The Recreation Center, located on the first floor, is open Monday through Sunday, with 24/7 access for students and trainees only.
The UMMC Bookstore, located on the first floor, is open Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
