As part of the School of Graduate Studies in the Health Sciences' annual Research Day last Thursday, trainees heard from 2019 Distinguished Alumna Dr. Barbara Alexander, UMMC professor of physiology and biophysics. In the lab, classroom and community, Dr. Mike Ryan has dedicated his time to training young scientists. On Tuesday, UMMC presented the Regions TEACH Prize, the institution’s highest honor for educational excellence, to Ryan during a ceremony that recognized UMMC's 2019 Nelson Order inductees.
