Chief Human Resources Officer

Molly Brasfield was appointed Chief Human Resources Officer in 2019. She is responsible for the workforce planning and programs for the Medical Center, physician group and schools.
For more than 20 years, Molly has held human resources leadership positions in the higher education, manufacturing and engineering, and health care industries with the last 13 years at UMMC. Molly’s experience has included leadership of human resources technology implementation and optimization, change management, workforce training and development, employee engagement, workforce planning, acquisition and retention of talent, total rewards programming and administration, employee relations and regulatory compliance, policy development, diversity and inclusion, and continuous improvement and business process engineering.
Molly also has served as post-secondary teacher and undergraduate faculty in the areas of human resources, management, music, psychology, and sociology.
Prior to joining UMMC, she held positions at Jackson Academy, Highline Community College, Southwest Baptist University, the CES Group, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi.
Molly earned a BA in psychology and music from Culver-Stockton College and an MS in psychology from Illinois State University. She also has completed doctorate work in human resources management and organizational behavior at University of Washington-Seattle. Molly is a Senior Certified Human Resources Professional and also holds certifications in Change Management and Diversity and Inclusion.
