Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges: Accredited Institution logo.

The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award bachelor’s, master's, and doctoral degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of the University of Mississippi Medical Center may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on the SACSCOC's website.

In addition to SACSCOC institutional accreditation, UMMC academic programs with specialized accreditation are accredited by those agencies.

The accreditation process is a chance for UMMC to review current practices and identify areas for improvement. It is also an opportunity for UMMC to highlight the exceptional students, faculty, staff, and programs at the heart of UMMC. For more information about SACSCOC or academic programs with specialized accreditation, contact the Office of Academic Compliance, Effectiveness, and Research (ACER).

For academic questions, including questions regarding UMMC academic program admission requirements, student financial aid, and educational programs and opportunities, call (601) 984-5009 or email AcademicAffairs@umc.edu.
