According to the John D. Bower School of Population Health (SOPH) Student Handbook, it is the responsibility of the student to ascertain the requirements for the degree program in which they are enrolled. Some Master of Science (MS) programs may require a written thesis and oral thesis proposal and defense as a requirement for graduation, and all Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs require a written dissertation and public oral proposal and defense.
