Dr. Clayton Yates featured as Hallmarks of Cancer speaker

Dr. Clayton Yates, John R. Lewis Professor of Pathology and director for translational health disparities and global health equity research at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, was the Hallmarks of Cancer speaker in September. 

His presentation was titled, "Reassessing Tumor Biology Through the Lens of African American Ancestry and Equity." Learning objectives included differentiating race from genetic ancestry in cancer research, evaluating the role of ancestry-informed molecular data in precision medicine and applying ancestry-integrated approaches to biomarker development and translational oncology.
