Dr. William Neil Duggar named chief medical physicist of radiation oncology

Dr. William Neil Duggar is the new chief medical physicist of radiation oncology, marking a significant milestone in his career. With a strong background in advancing medical technologies and enhancing patient care, Duggar brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

New publications

Melanoma of the skin ranks as the fifth most prevalent cancer type, representing 5.0% of all new cancer diagnoses and 1.3% of deaths. Once skin melanoma spreads from its primary site, curing it becomes unlikely due to its aggressive nature, posing a significant treatment challenge.

New faculty spotlight: Dr. Ramona Moles

The Cancer Center and Research Institute welcomes Dr. Ramona Moles, new assistant professor in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology.

Grants

Dr. Leslie Musshafen, associate director of administration for the Cancer Center and Research Institute, is helping to facilitate Survivor University, a program aiming to improve cancer survivors’ well-being and increase self-efficacy to cope with the disease.
