MMSA honors Dr. Justin Turner

The Mississippi Medical and Surgical Association presented Dr. Justin Turner, assistant professor in UMMC’s Department of Preventive Medicine and community health officer for UMMC’s Cancer Center and Research Institute, with the 2025 Distinguished Physician Award. 

The award reflects Turner’s commitment to excellence, service to communities and dedication to advancing medicine throughout Mississippi. 

The Mississippi Medical and Surgical Association is the state chapter of the National Medical Association, which strives to eliminate disparities in health.
