Momentum builds as CCRI advances campaign and Pavilion transition

As we move deeper into spring, the momentum behind It’s About Time: The Campaign for the UMMC Cancer Center and Research Institute continues to build.

At the beginning of this month, outreach to employees at UMMC has been met with enthusiastic support. This follows the March 30 announcement that the campaign total has reached $100 million, thanks to donations including $10 million from the Gertrude C. Ford Foundation, $5 million from C Spire and the $25 million gift from Sandy and John Black that launched the drive, which is raising funds to help build a transformational center for cancer care and research.

Meanwhile, CCRI is moving forward with moves to the UMMC Medical Pavilion. Our initial move earlier this year has been followed by Pain Management and Radiation Oncology. In April, Radiation Oncology launched therapies with Edge and Ethos systems, featuring the levels of radiation technology offered at cancer centers with NCI designation.

We’ve also made strides in making our patients more comfortable with our relocation, and that could not have happened without the efforts of the entire CCRI team.

Each week brings remarkable progress at CCRI, and it is because of your dedication, care and professionalism. Thank you for your continued commitment to our mission as we prepare for this next chapter in cancer care at UMMC.
