Rededra Smith is CCRI Employee of the Month

Our most recent CCRI Employee of the Month is Rededra Smith, certified medical assistant.  

Rededra started working at the Cancer Center in 2023 as a medical office assistant. During her two years in that role, she excelled, said Heather Sistrunk, administrative director of clinical affairs. 

“I would describe her as a natural leader,” Sistrunk said. “Other words that describe her include—loyal, dependable, driven, positive, helpful, servant, organized, hard working. I can’t say enough about how she contributes to the success of our daily flow within the Cancer Center. Rededra is very deserving of Employee of the Month!” 

Coworkers at CCRI have praised her dedication to collaboration and excellence in patient care.  

“Rededra has consistently demonstrated outstanding teamwork throughout my time at UMMC.” said Marlene Rios, project manager III. “From day one, she graciously mentored me through the check-in and close-out processes, providing detailed instructions. Her willingness to share her knowledge and her collaborative spirit have been invaluable assets to the team.” 

Rebecca Pope, RN, inpatient clinical coordinator, agrees.  

“Rededra consistently prioritizes patient care and goes above and beyond her assigned duties to support others,” she said. “Her positive attitude and willingness to help are appreciated by colleagues and physicians, who frequently commend her work.”
