As we recognize brain, bladder and cutaneous cancers during May, we also take a moment to celebrate the remarkable achievements within the UMMC Cancer Center and Research Institute. From groundbreaking research to exceptional clinical practice, our dedicated team continues to make strides in cancer care and education. In this update, we highlight the outstanding contributions of Dr. Anson Thaggard, our Employee of the Month, the notable research funding awarded to Dr. Seema Singh, and the prestigious recognition of Dr. Gunjan Sharma. We also explore Dr. Keli Xu's publication which identifies Jagged1 as a potential target for personalized breast cancer treatment, and Sharon Ezell’s achievement of dual oncology certifications.
