Cancer Center and Research Institute honored at American Cancer Society Awards luncheon

The Cancer Center and Research Institute received multiple prestigious awards at the American Cancer Society Awards Luncheon held Dec. 6. The awards reflect CCRI's continued dedication to innovation, partnership and excellence in cancer care and prevention.

Outstanding Health System Partner, acknowledging the exceptional partnership and dedication to supporting cancer patients and their families.

Marlene Rios, project manager III, Bethany Sabins, nurse practitioner in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology and Katie Bass, social worker proudly holds the 2024 Outstanding Health System Partner Award.

The CCCRI was also honored with the Outstanding Health System Award for Mississippi in recognition of the institution's impactful efforts in advancing cancer care across the state. Additionally, the Cancer Center earned two notable accolades: the First Referring Champion Award for the Gertrude C. Ford Hope Lodge and the Outstanding Health System Partner, acknowledging the exceptional partnership and dedication to supporting cancer patients and their families.

Bethany Sabins, nurse practitioner in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology was named 2024 HPV Clinical Champion. The distinction celebrates her leadership and commitment to HPV prevention and education in the fight against cervical cancer.
