Gallbladder and bile duct cancers are rare, with about 12,350 cases expected to have been diagnosed in 2024, according to the National Cancer Institute. The NCI also estimated that approximately 4,530 people would die from these cancers last year.
Common symptoms of both cancers include yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), abdominal pain, fever, nausea and vomiting. Bile duct cancer may also cause dark urine, pale or clay-colored stool, itchy skin and weight loss.
