Laissez les bon temps rouler… As February is typically the beginning of Mardi Gras season, the Louisiana-French phrase of “let the good times roll” rings true for UMMC CCRI. We celebrate the achievement of American Cancer Society Commission on Cancer Accreditation under the leadership of Dr. Christopher Wade. Noteworthy are the numerous accolades of our faculty, including Dr. Jasmine Miller-Kleinhenz being honored with the AACR Minority Faculty Scholar Award, Dr. Carolann Risley's recent presentation at a CDC seminar and a high-impact journal publication by Dr. Jawed Siddiqui’s group on the benefits of dietary isoflavones for female hormone-dependent cancers in Phytotherapy Research. Also, we are proud to announce the addition of Melissa Wood, NP to our newly formed Lifestyle Medicine Cancer Care program. Whether its for Mardi Gras, or our CCRI success, its certainly time to celebrate and to laissez les bon temps rouler.
