Investigational Drug Service

Definition

• Investigational Drug Service (IDS) provides safeguards in clinical research studies by ensuring that investigational products are procured, handled, stored, and dispensed safely and correctly.

Policies/guidelines

• If your clinical research study will involve an investigational product, the IDS can assist with dispensing, storing, monitoring, and accountability, among other services.The Office of Clinical Trials works with the IDS to incorporate IDS pricing into the clinical research study budget.
  *Note: The IDS is non-profit; all fees go towards covering the costs of operation.
