Definition
- Logistics is the coordination of several offices and departments to arrange, organize and manage a clinical trial or clinical study.
Policies/guidelines
- It is important to define roles and establish the parameters of the study as well as outline expectations and responsibilities.
- All parties must work together to set realistic goals and timelines that are mutually agreeable.
- The logistics process is a joint effort between the Principal Investigator (PI) and the coordinator during the initial study assessment.
- The UMMC study information sheets capture information necessary to determine which offices and departments need to be included in the clinical trial planning process. UMMC's Office of Clinical Trials requires both the sponsor and study team to complete these sheets prior to initiating the clinical trials activation process.
