Oxford Accelerated BSN student awarded scholarship by NSNA
Congratulations to Oxford Accelerated BSN student Richard Wright who was awarded the Johnson & Johnson Our Race to Health Equity Diversity Nursing Scholarship from the Foundation of the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA). The Mississippi Association of Student Nurses (MASN) president will be recognized at the NSNA 72nd Annual Convention Opening Ceremony next month in Florida. The scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, involvement in nursing student organizations and community service activities related to health care. Thank you for your commitment to service to the SON, the community and to health care!
DNP Student published in JBI Evidence Implementation
DNP student Betty Loflin published an article titled "Vaccinations in patients diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder receiving an immunosuppressive agent: A best practice implementation project" in the JBI Evidence Implementation journal. The article was coauthored with faculty members Dr. Linda Upchurch, associate professor and director of the DNP program, Dr. Michelle Palokas, associate professor and associate dean for administration, and Dr. Robin Christian, professor and director of the Mississippi Centre for Evidence-Based Practice: A JBI Centre of Excellence. The project examined the increased health risks of immunosuppressed patients due to potential infections such as influenza or COVID-19. DOI: 10.1097/XEB.0000000000000404
