SON at State of the Science Congress

The Council for the Advancement of Science (CANS), a signature initiative of the American Academy of Nursing, held the 2022 State of the Science Congress on Nursing Research on September 15-17, 2022, in Washington, DC. The biennial event focused on the complex relationships between social and structural determinants of health, with respect to advancing health equity.

The American Association for Men in Nursing honored Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Dr. Marilyn Harrington and the School of Nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

Dr. Leigh Holley protecting public through Accelerated BSN program

New faculty member Dr. Leigh Holley is assistant dean for the Oxford Instructional Site, where the School of Nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center offers a year-long accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The program graduates about 70 students each year, a number Holley hopes to see grow.

School of Nursing partners with Mississippi State for dual-degree program

UMMC and Mississippi State are working together to increase the number of nurses in the state through a new dual-degree program. Students completing the program will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from MSU and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UMMC.
