Update from the Oxford Instructional Site
Greetings from Oxford!
The Oxford campus is excited to share several recent accomplishments by students and faculty!
Congratulations to Accelerated BSN student Alana L. Andrus on acceptance of her poster presentation 'A Systematic Review of Music Therapy for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder' to be displayed at the upcoming SON Research and Scholarship Day. The purpose of Alana’s systematic review was to assess the effectiveness of music therapy as a potential treatment option for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Alana’s review revealed music therapy is sufficiently supported as an effective means for reducing ASD symptoms and can be considered in the repertoire of treatment options available to those diagnosed with ASD. We are proud of you, Alana!
Congratulations also to Matthew Hartzog for being accepted into the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) Leadership University Honor Society. The Honor Society recognizes NSNA members who participate in leadership activities at the school chapter, state association and NSNA nationally. The goal of the Honor Society is to prepare future nurse leaders as they transition into future roles as RNs by offering opportunities to participate in shared governance. Way to go, Matthew!
Congratulations to Dr. Holley on receiving the Nelson Order, established in 2004 by the UMMC Office of Academic Affairs. The purpose of the Nelson Order is to honor our institution's best teachers, as selected by students, by their peers and recommended by the deans of their respective schools. Congrats Dr. Holley!
