Study Closure

After the study team completes a clinical research study, it is imperative that the study be closed out in accordance with institutional as well as federal guidelines. The study sponsor may complete a study close out visit. Records must be archived and maintained, and the study must be closed out with the institutional review board (IRB) as well as the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Post-Award Division. The responsible party must also update the study record on clinicaltrials.gov.

Use the left-hand navigation pane to learn more about each step in the study closure process.
