The Center for Informatics and Analytics (CIA) is a comprehensive center that provides services to advance the missions of University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Mission
To improve the health of Mississippians by integrating informatics and analytics into all three missions - health care, research and education - of the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Goals
The center's overarching goals focus on six areas:
- Design and leverage an infrastructure that supports clinical intelligence, research informatics, and education/population health informatics;
- Centralize and share data;
- Enhance and apply analytics to improve outcomes;
- Facilitate transformation of care delivery through collaborations that result in better care and lower cost;
- Increase research collaboration and productivity to remain competitive; and
- Support existing educational programs while developing new educational opportunities.
Guiding principles
- Informatics and analytics initiatives will be prioritized to meet institutional goals;
- Advisory groups will guide in the prioritization of informatics and analytics initiatives;
- CIA will ensure the security and integrity of all data stored in the enterprise data warehouse;
- CIA will capture data one time, as close to the source, as possible;
- End users will be involved in the design of all application and intelligence tools;
- Business owners will be engaged in all analytics initiatives.
