Core C – Research, Computing, Bioinformatics and Biostatistics

This graphic has the words Core C in the center of a circle with arrows, indicating a flow. At the top of the circle is Research Question, with an arrow to Omnics Sub-Core Genomics, with an arrow to Research Computing and Bioinformatics. Between the Research question and research computing and bioinformatics there is an off-shoot to Core B, which includes genomics, proteomic. metabolomic and Gene-editing/ biologics. After the research computing and bioinformatics, there is an arrow to biostatistics and big data resources. The Research Computing, Bioinformatics, and Biostatistics Core will provide MCHD investigators access to state-of-the-art research computing infrastructure and analysis pipelines to fully leverage molecular datasets, including epigenomic, transcriptomic, proteomic and metabolomic data collected via Core B (Omics and Gene-Editing).The integration of these datasets will provide researchers an integrative view of molecular, cellular, and physiological data associated with scientific questions related to health and disease. Core C will build a new research computing infrastructure at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) to provide vital bioinformatics and computational biology analysis, and leverage and expand current biostatistics capabilities available through the School of Population Health (SOPH).
