Volunteer Services
University of Mississippi Medical Center volunteers play an important role in helping to provide quality, compassionate care to patients.
We exist to enlist volunteers with the purpose of attempting to alleviate anxieties for patients and families. The volunteers strive to do small acts with significant impacts.
Volunteers make a commitment to serve at least once a week for 3 hours for a minimum of 3 consecutive months. This can be achieved during the week and on weekends. Prospective volunteer is strongly encouraged to consider the time commitment, consistency, and dedication necessary to make the volunteer experience beneficial to both you as a volunteer and to the patients, families, and hospital staff we serve.
UMMC Volunteer Services agrees with the quote:
"There’s nothing like the heart of a volunteer."
