As the state’s leader in pediatric care, Children’s of Mississippi offers programs to promote wellness and prevent injuries in kids of all ages. We also partner with leading agencies who share our commitment to improving the lives of Mississippi’s kids.
According to the CDC, injury is the leading cause of death and disability for children in the United States, and Mississippi's accidental death rate is among the highest in the nation. In every age group except infants less than 1 year of age, accidental death is the leading cause of death.
According to the Mississippi State Department of Health, nearly one in five teenagers in Mississippi is obese. They also report that nearly one in three children ages 2 to 5 years old are obese.
At Children’s of Mississippi, our mission to create a healthier Mississippi begins with our youngest residents. We partner with schools and youth groups, providing presentations, resources, and services to support children’s safety and wellness.
