As we move into the close of 2025, I am proud to share another edition of MEWI in Motion that reflects the heart of our work at the Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute for the Elimination of Health Disparities.
Every day, MEWI works to meet the needs of families across Mississippi through initiatives like the EversCare Clinic, the EversCare Food Pantry and our equity-focused research and outreach programs.
The Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute for the Elimination of Health Disparities (MEWI) at the University of Mississippi Medical Center has launched a new Faculty Affiliate Program designed to strengthen statewide collaboration, expand community-engaged research and accelerate progress toward health equity in Mississippi.

The Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute is proud to announce that the first cohort of CenteringPregnancy patients will begin their group prenatal care sessions in the spring. This launch marks an important milestone in MEWI’s expanding work to strengthen maternal health equity across Mississippi.
