Vision

To achieve health equity and improve population health in Mississippi

Mission

To deliver rigorous family- and community-based research, patient-centered clinical care, education, and community outreach to achieve health equity and improve population health in Mississippi through:

  • uplifting and empowering the voices of vulnerable populations in community-based research;
  • comprehensive coordinated care that addresses social determinants of health;
  • diversifying the public and biomedical workforce;
  • rigorous, interdisciplinary training and mentoring of students, post-doctoral fellows, and early career faculty committed to health disparities research;
  • informing evidence-based policies that eliminate systemic barriers to optimal health;
  • and the creation of inclusive and mutually-beneficial collaborations and community partnerships
