Mission
To deliver rigorous family- and community-based research, patient-centered clinical care, education, and community outreach to achieve health equity and improve population health in Mississippi through:
- uplifting and empowering the voices of vulnerable populations in community-based research;
- comprehensive coordinated care that addresses social determinants of health;
- diversifying the public and biomedical workforce;
- rigorous, interdisciplinary training and mentoring of students, post-doctoral fellows, and early career faculty committed to health disparities research;
- informing evidence-based policies that eliminate systemic barriers to optimal health;
- and the creation of inclusive and mutually-beneficial collaborations and community partnerships
