Director’s welcome

As we move into the close of 2025, I am proud to share another edition of MEWI in Motion that reflects the heart of our work at the Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute for the Elimination of Health Disparities. This season reminds us how important it is to strengthen community connections and support the families who rely on us, especially as many continue to face uncertainty and hardship.

In this issue, you will find highlights from our recent Marian Wright Edelman Distinguished Lectureship, important updates on the EversCare Pantry, and a first look at the CenteringPregnancy program that will welcome its inaugural cohort in January. You will also meet members of our team and our partners through our staff and volunteer spotlights, and learn more about the launch of our new Faculty Affiliate Program, which is already helping expand collaboration across the state.

I hope you also take a moment to explore our health literacy tips, which offer simple tools to help patients and families navigate an information landscape that can be confusing and sometimes overwhelming.

Thank you for your continued support of MEWI and of the communities we serve. Your partnership makes this work possible and keeps us moving forward with purpose.

Warm regards,
